Distinctive vintage brass candlestick featuring a tall cylindrical stem, broad stepped circular base and deep upper drip pan. The central candle socket appears to incorporate a traditional push-up/ejector-style mechanism, a practical feature associated with older candlestick designs for raising the remaining candle. The substantial stepped base is finished with fine beaded detailing around the edges, giving the otherwise restrained design an attractive period character. The brass has developed an aged, mellow patina with visible wax residue and surface wear consistent with previous use.
